Founding later: today, the Top 50 bachelor’s degree

A parent wants the child to “do INSEAD” or “do Stanford” in order to become a founder. Today, the work is a bachelor’s degree at a Top 50 university. Founding comes after. INSEAD is not after the bac.

You want your child to found something. In the same sentence, often, you add a school: INSEAD, or Stanford, “so that they become a founder.”

That sentence mixes two dates. Founding a company, raising money, leading people who owe you nothing: that comes after studies, and often after having worked with others. Today, from 6e through the bac, the work is a first degree. A bachelor’s degree at a Top 50 university. The founder’s job, if it comes, comes afterwards. It is not this year’s report card.

A campus is a place. It is not a recipe. Being a student somewhere does not create a company. It puts a young adult, later, among teachers, classmates, and problems held at a certain level. That is already a great deal. It is not a guarantee that they will found.

INSEAD is not the step after the bac

INSEAD takes adults who already have a degree and years of work. Your child, after the bac, does not enter it. Citing it as “the school for founding” glues an adult degree onto a child in collège. We take the adult degree off the table. We keep the ambition, at its date.

Stanford, the university, can be a target for a bachelor’s degree, if it is in that year’s Top 50 and if this child’s file can bear it. Harvard, Oxford, Tsinghua, MIT, or another university truly of that rank, can be as well. This is not a closed list. It is not “the only schools for founders.” Admission is never guaranteed. An MBA, done years later by someone who has already worked, is not your child’s problem. We do not prepare it in collège.

Why that rank, and not a school chosen because the name circulates: Why aim for the Top 50. These universities compare baccalaureate systems that do not compare as they stand. Grades matter. They are not enough.

What counts more than an app

The reflex, when people talk to a child about founding, is often: have them build an app. The problem would be technical. The solution would be a screen.

That is not the work of these years. What weighs, later, when someone creates something, is talent — their own, and the talent of the people they manage to bring to work with them. It is languages, in order to speak with people who do not come from the same table. It is the ability to work with people who owe you nothing: a customer, a teammate, someone who says no. An app can exist. It does not replace that.

Over years, this shows up in an activity held over time and in a simple portfolio: something started, continued, finished, with others if that is the case. Duration, progress, a responsibility. Not a showcase built in a month before the bac. How we do this with the child, without discouraging them and without stacking classes “on the side”: How we prepare this with your child.

Maths stay in the file. The SAT measures them, with reading and writing. The UAT, if the destination asks for it. Academic English, IELTS or TOEFL, often a high level, nothing promised. We can be more confident about a B2, with the work, than about the most selective test. Tuition money is prepared with the file. Outcomes depend on the profile, the scores, and the rules of the university and of funders. Liwaza prepares. Liwaza does not guarantee a scholarship or a loan.

What this changes between 6e and the bac

Between 6e and the bac, your child does not found the family company. They become someone whose file a selective university can read.

In collège, maths, languages, and an activity that can last are protected. They are allowed to carry something small through to the end: a club, a project, a responsibility. In lycée, that proof has to hold beside the report card. The bac matters. It is not enough. A child with an Ivorian bac and a child with a Chinese one are not ranked on marks alone.

Liwaza Familles prepares a child from 6e. Later, in 4e or in lycée, a family can still enter: the diagnostic says what is still realistic. We do not promise admission because the ambition was stated early. We do not lock “founder” at twelve. Interest can move. The proof remains.

The destinations we name are those of the Top 50: the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea — and a Canadian university only if it is truly in the Top 50 that year. The country is chosen later, when the project and the money are clear. Stanford can be in the conversation as a bachelor’s university. It is not a poster. Sending a child “to study abroad,” especially for a France or Belgium plan, is a different project.

A French grande école is not the shortcut to “founding.” The name is known at the table. It does not replace a Top 50 bachelor’s degree. We do not build that plan by default.

Even after years, a place at the very top of the top is never guaranteed. Those years are not wasted. The child arrives with a stronger file, for a selective university in the same set. That file does not promise they will create a company. It only means they have been prepared to be read.

How entry works after those years, and why a famous name can be an employer without being a school: After Liwaza, how a child enters, Tesla, Samsung, BYD. With the Top 50 and the page on preparing this with the child, those are the four texts around this one.

What we can say honestly

We do not promise admission. We do not promise that they will found. We do not promise that they will raise money. We do not promise a visa.

The first degree is the door. The rest is an adult life, later, if it is still their path.

Where we start

We do not start with the name of a school “for founders.” We do not start by having them code an app this month.

We start with a diagnostic: where your child stands, how they reason, how they work with others, their English, what they already hold. That session is to see whether a Top 50 bachelor’s degree is realistic for this child. It does not decide that they will be a founder. It does not give you the manual to do it all alone.

If your question is founding later, the next step, today, is the Top 50 bachelor’s degree, from 6e.
