Guide · SAT

The SAT compares students from different school systems.

Good grades matter. They are not enough to compare an application from Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon or Senegal with one from China or the United States. That is what the SAT is for. It is prepared over several years, alongside school.

What the test measures

The SAT assesses reading, writing and maths on one scale. Harvard, Stanford and MIT use it to compare an application from Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon or Senegal with one from China or the United States.

It is not something you cram in the final year. A good score is built over time: daily reading, graded practice, mock tests. A benchmark often cited is 1200 out of 1600.

In the United Kingdom, Oxford, Cambridge or Imperial may ask for another test, the UAT, depending on the subject. We prepare it only if the destination asks for it.

Why start early

From 6e, twenty minutes a day is often enough to build the habit, alongside school. A student in 4e, 3e or 2nde can also start: the same work is still possible, just more compressed.

The assessment tells you where your child should start. The day-by-day detail is then built inside the program.
