You say INSEAD. The honest answer starts with age: a child, after the bac, does not enter INSEAD.
Your child, in 6e (Grade 6) or in lycée, is therefore not filing an application to INSEAD this year. They will not file one in the year of the bac either. There is no undergraduate degree at INSEAD that one would prepare the way one prepares a university. The name is famous. It does not mean a bachelor’s degree. Confusing it with a destination after the bac sends the family toward a form that does not exist.
A business school, after a first degree
INSEAD is a business school. The studies people do there come after a university degree already earned. There is a campus in Fontainebleau, and other campuses, in Singapore and in Abu Dhabi. Naming these places locates the school. It does not choose a country for a child, and it does not open an enrolment for a lycée student.
We do not describe the course content here, or a method for “succeeding” in a file for this school. That is not the subject of a collège pupil. A management degree at this level, if the project becomes that, is looked at years after a first degree, by someone who already has a university education behind them. Not by a child preparing the bac or the GCE.
That later door is not the Liwaza Familles product for a child in collège. Familles prepares a school path toward a first degree. INSEAD can be a door afterwards, only if, years after that degree, the project becomes a management degree at that level. Only if. Not as the plan of 6e, not as a substitute for a university.
Why the school years still count
The question “why now” has an answer, and it is not an application to INSEAD. If you want a serious academic path, the work from 6e bears on four simple things: English, the school record, activities held over time, and a real first-degree target at a university.
Academic English is built over years. Many programmes at this level ask for a high standard, often a C1. We do not promise that score. We work on it over time, so that a first degree can be studied in that language. A business school, years later, would read a life already lived.
The report card is not manufactured in the last term either. A readable schooling is a sequence of years. Activities show that the child has carried something: a duration, a responsibility, a finished project. That serves first the person they are becoming, and the file of a real university. A business school, much later, would read that life already lived. It is not prepared in place of the life.
The child needs a real university now, not a logo. The logo reassures adults in a conversation. It does not give classes to a lycée student. The useful target is a first degree, at a university one can name, prepare, and accept must still be confirmed by a diagnostic.
The first step remains a Top 50 university for a first degree. That rank, and entry into that university, are already written: Why aim for the Top 50 and After Liwaza, how a child enters.
The country of that first degree is chosen later, with the track and with the money. Fontainebleau, Singapore, or Abu Dhabi are not the cities of a child who is still in collège. They are campuses of a school the child will not enter with the bac.
One can start from 6e, or later, in 4e or in lycée, if the diagnostic still finds a tenable path toward a university. That path is not called INSEAD. It is called a schooling, then a first degree.
What “preparing INSEAD” means, and what it does not mean
When a parent asks to prepare INSEAD, they often ask that the name be taken seriously. We take it seriously by refusing the shortcut. Preparing now, for a child, means preparing the only step that exists at their age: a first degree at a university, not a course of study at INSEAD.
There is no application account to open, and no management track to freeze at thirteen. Tests matter because they are school. They are not an entrance trial in disguise.
A child’s voice that does not speak of management has its full place. The sciences, letters, engineering, the arts: the first degree is chosen according to the child, not according to the logo the adults cited. The diagnostic is for finding a realistic university for that first degree. It is not for disguising a collège student as an applicant to a business school.
No place, no visa, no post
Admission to the university of the first degree is never guaranteed. Admission to INSEAD is not guaranteed either, on the distant day when the question might arise. We do not ask it in the child’s place, and we do not promise it. Years of good work sign neither of those two letters.
We do not promise a visa. A file is not a residence title. A country’s rules are checked if a departure exists, in the year it exists.
Being a student somewhere is not a job at Tesla. A place in an education is not a contract.
The diagnostic is about the child, not a logo
We do not start with an INSEAD file. There is not one for them.
We start with a diagnostic: where your child stands, how they reason, how they learn, their English, their interests. That session is to see which first-degree university is realistic, and whether the name you said — INSEAD — should leave today’s conversation so that this university can take the place. It does not replace a public exam. It does not prepare an application that does not exist at this age.
If you came with this name, the honest next step is a first degree. The rest, only years later, and only if the project becomes that.
